Ryan gasped, picking her up and twirling her around before finally setting her back down. "Congratulations!!!" he laughed, extremely proud of her. "I knew you could do it!!"

Lillian had let out a small squeal at being twirled around, and her cheeks were still pink when she was facing him again.
"Oh, thanks," she replied in a tone of obvious false modesty.

"Yes, of course I will," she replied, chuckling a bit as she smiled brightly at him. She didn't care that he hadn't hired a skywriter or barged in during her class to sing a song he'd written just for her. That was all quite a bit embarrassing, actually. She was just ecstatic he'd asked her.

"Why?" she asked, an utterly confused expression on her face. She was also glad she'd said 'no' to Jack, but she wondered why Ryan was. She also wondered if he knew that him whispering into her ear like that gave her goosebumps all over.

Lillian could feel her cheeks getting hot, so she quickly hugged Ryan, wrapping her arms around his neck. It was a friendly hug, of course. Or, should I say, 'it was a friendly hug, unfortunately.'
