Ryan smiled, stuffing his hands in his pockets and awkwardly looking around the hallway. "So, uh, just let me know what color your dress is," he said after a couple of minutes, remembering that those types of things were important to girls. "And I'll try to match you."

[Tag Along]

"It's light purple," she replied almost immediately.

She hadn't actually bought the dress yet, but she'd been shopping with Jana (who had been asked by Michael two weeks ago), and she'd found the perfect dress.

[Specs]

"Okay," he smiled shyly, excited to see Lillian in her dress. "I'll remember that."

[Tag Along]

The next week was a total blur of planning for prom. But Lillian got her dream dress and her dream date, so she was happy.

Finally, the big night arrived. Lillian and Jana were in their room getting ready to meet Ryan and Michael down in the courtyard. Jana looked quite spunky and feisty in her short, red dress, while Lillian was the epitome of elegance in her Greek goddess one-shoulder, long, flowy lavender dress. Her hair was in a low bun with some curls hanging around her face. Jana had said, if you just put a tiara of olive leaves on her head, she'd be Aphrodite.

The two girls made their way down to the courtyard, Lillian's heart beating faster by the minute.

Ryan wanted to look his best for prom, causing him to drag his younger sister along with him for a shopping trip to the mall. He settled with a classic black suit paired with a light purple tie to match Lillian's dress. He waited anxiously in the courtyard, holding on to Lillian's corsage, a white rose with a gold and purple ribbon.

Jana ran to meet Michael - apparently they were an item now. Lillian whined after her, sighing and rolling her eyes. Then she caught sight of Ryan waiting for her. And she walked the rest of the way to him on a cloud.

[Specs]

Ryan turned to look for Lillian and once he saw her, he couldn't help but stare. She was a vision as she made her way towards him. It was almost impossible for him to keep his eyes off of her.

"Y-you look beautiful," muttered Ryan, snapping out of his trance once he realized that she was in front of him.

[Tag Along]

Lillian blushed furiously, biting back a smile as she looked down at the ground.

"Thanks. You look really nice, too."

[Specs]

"Here," said Ryan, taking out the corsage and gently placing it on her wrist. "I got you this too."

[Tag Along]

"Oh, it's so beautiful!" Lillian exclaimed, admiring it. She still hadn't looked him in the eye; she feared she would collapse from her legs being turned to jelly.

[Specs]

Ryan grinned, glad that she immediately liked it. "Ready?" he smiled, offering his arm.

[Tag Along]

Lillian nodded before taking his arm, a small smile twitching at her lips. Michael and Jana were waiting for them at the entrance to the auditorium, undoubtedly waiting to take pictures. Lillian could hear the live band had already started playing, and about half the school was already on the dance floor.

[Specs]

Ryan could feel his heart race when they neared the auditorium. Most of the other kids simply knew Lillian as the nerd but now that she looked extremely beautiful, he knew that they wouldn't be able to stop talking about her. Then again, they couldn't do anything. She was his date and, for that, he was extremely proud of.

[Tag Along]

There could have been no better way to start off the night than by taking pictures. Lillian and Jana took some together, then they forced Ryan and Michael to, then just Jana and Michael, then just Ryan and Lillian, then a group one, then a funny group one, then another funny group one... By the end of it, Lillian was surprised the photographer hadn't shooed them away.

Lillian was still laughing as they approached the dance floor, though she couldn't seem to find Jana and Michael... They had been right there!

Throughout the whole night, Ryan made sure to hold Lillian's hand, shyly at first then more confident as the night grew. "Wanna dance?" he asked, once he heard a slow song play.
