"Okay," Lillian began, watching him draw a really good impromptu map of France.
"So, there were three levels of class in France at the time," she began, explaining each one and watching him fill in the map. It was actually quite clever.

Ryan nodded, scribbling notes and drawing as Lillian explained the history of France. Once she was done, he had a very detailed drawing. It was as if the book was converted into a picture. And Ryan, surprisingly, understood what she was talking about.

Lillian was in awe. He'd managed to fit everything she had explained on the map. She looked up at the clock, and she was surprised to see it was almost 6:30. She didn't realize she could talk about the French Revolution for that long. Plus, they still hadn't completely covered Napoleon!
"Tomorrow we can talk about Napoleon. If you still want to meet tomorrow," she said quietly, twirling a piece of hair around her finger.

"Yeah, sure," grinned Ryan. Tutoring wasn't so bad after all.

Lillian nodded, closing her book and standing up. She was curious to see what would happen in history class the next day; he probably wouldn't even acknowledge her existence, though, so she tried not to get her hopes up.
That didn't mean she didn't rush back to her dorm to divulge every detail about the tutoring session to Jana, her roomie/bff.

Ryan, oddly enough, started to look forward to tutoring. Lillian was easy to understand and let him learn the way he wanted to. She wasn't judgmental and was extremely amiable, which he loved. Instead of rushing out the door after class, Ryan walked slowly and glanced at Lillian as she packed away her stuff. He wanted to walk with her to the library this time rather than just meeting here there.

Lillian hadn't expected to see Ryan standing there, seemingly waiting for her, when she looked up from her desk. It made her heart beat faster than normal.
"Oh, hi," she said, smiling up at him. She couldn't think of anything else to say; why did she get so shy around cute boys?

"Wanna walk to the library together?" he grinned shyly.

"Uhm, yeah! Sure!" Lillian replied, hoping she didn't sound too excited, although she was.
She swung her backpack over her shoulder and made her way out of the classroom. She walked out into the hallway, heading toward the library, not believing that Ryan Lane was walking next to her. And so closely that no one could mistake they were walking together. Over by her locker, she caught the eye of Jana and, before quickly averting her gaze, saw her best friend give her an enthusiastic thumbs up.

Ryan glanced at Lillian and smirked, amused at her behavior. He knew they were from different cliques, but what's wrong with mingling with other people once in a while? Besides, she was going to help him graduate and he would be eternally grateful for that. Plus, she was fun. And nice. And cute. Ryan was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't even realize that they were already at the library. He grinned as he opened the door for her.

"Thank you," she muttered, glad they were in the library so she had an excuse to be quiet. She made her way to the same table from yesterday, her thoughts gradually changing from those of Ryan to those of Napoleon.
Once they were both seated, she opened her book to the chapter on Mr. Bonaparte and sighed. "So, Napoleon... Do you think you could draw an outline of this?" she asked, pointing to a portrait of the short Frenchmen.

"Of course!" beamed Ryan, glad that she was catching on to how he processed information. It was fun for him to learn this way and he loved that Lillian didn't get upset at him for it.

Lillian smiled, glad he seemed so excited to learn. After he sketched Napoleon, she started talking about him and how he royally screwed up his life by leading the French people into disaster.
"And, really, the moral of the story is never to attack Russia in the winter," she finished with a small shrug.
((It's true. I took Euro history in high school, and that's something I will never forget! lol))

"'Cause they're cranky?" smirked Ryan as he finished up his drawing.
((Lol!))

"Well, that and because Russia's too damn cold in the winter to survive," she chuckled, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear and glancing over at him.
