"I know I hate her and everything, but...I can't help but think that I've ruined the biggest day of her life. Every girl dreams about her perfect wedding, and now hers won't happen anymore..." She rinsed her mouth out quickly and turned around in Tyler's arms, resting her hands on his bare chest. "I'm a homewrecker!"

Tyler couldn't help but snort, amused at Kathryn's description of herself. He leaned in to kiss the tip of her nose. "Yer not a homewrecker, Sugar. I was gonna call off the weddin' even if nothin' happened between us." He kissed her lips. "And don't worry yerself over Sherry." He smirked a bit ruefully. "She'll get 'er dream weddin'. The guy in it don't matter ta her as much as the show, anyway."

Kathryn knew he was right, and she would just have to get over this feeling of guilt. She deserved Tyler more than Sherry did, anyways.
"I just want you to be happy," she said, gazing up into his eyes.

He framed her face in his hands, locking eyes with her. "Kathryn, listen ta me. I am happier right now, at this moment, than I have been in the last two years. My happiest moments have always been with you, nobody else." He kissed her gently. "If anybody oughta be worred, it's me. I still don't think I deserve ya."

He kissed her again because he couldn't stop looking at her mouth. He murmured into it, sliding his hands along her arms. "Ya deserve the universe, Kat. I oughta spend the rest a' my life worshippin' ya. I think I just might."

Kathryn's heart fluttered as a thought popped into her head. She blurted it out before she had the chance to filter it.

He had been just about to kiss her again when she said it, so he froze with lips a little puckered. He stared at her a second, before a crooked grin spread across his face. He brought a hand up to brush his fingers across her cheek. "I owe you a ring." As he said it, a thought struck him. He grabbed her hand and tugged her back to the bedroom. He kissed her once then moved to rifle through a dresser drawer.

Kathryn couldn't believe she had said that, and she couldn't believe he hadn't laughed or run away. While he was rummaging through the drawer, she watched him with wide eyes.

When he turned around he was holding a little black velvet box. "Sherry wanted some fancy modern thing, so that's what I got 'er. But in my head, the girl I married was gonna wear this." He moved over to her, opened the box. In it sat a vintage silver ring, a blue sapphire surrounded by small diamonds in its center. "It was my grandmother's..."

Tyler was suddenly nervous, licking his lips. He looked at her, a flush creeping up his neck. "If...if you want it ta be..." He cleared his throat, figuring he ought to do this right. He knelt in front of her, looking up into her eyes. "Kat...Kathryn...I shoulda' done this ages ago, and I am so, so sorry for everything I've put you through lately, but...but I love you, and I wanna be with you, and I wanna make a family with you..." He took another breath. The first time he proposed to a girl wasn't nearly as terrifying and emotional as this was. "Kathryn, Sugar...will ya marry me..?"

"No." Kathryn looked right into his eyes and her heart beat like a loud drum.
"Not until you break up with your other fiance, at least," she smirked, her eyes twinkling as she looked down at him.

For a split second, Tyler looked mortified, then grinned crookedly and leaned up to kiss her. "Deal. And then this ring's yers." He kissed her again, slower this time. "And so am I..."
