She slowly raised an eyebrow. "Wraith helped you find Ershey. Little blond girl, I'm sure you remember. You don't owe me for nothing. I'm gonna owe you for this, and I find that absolutely horrifying. So why?"

"'Cause... other than Adri, there's not a whole lot of people that I actually care about in this house," answered Risk, trying his best not to look at Macbeth.

Macbeth was uncharacteristically silent for a good minute or two. She was mulling over his words and trying to decide how much to read into them. She still found it virtually impossible that anyone could be attracted to her, and besides, crushing people's romantic expectations was an area in which she had no experience whatsoever.
But if there was the slightest chance that those expectations existed, there was no way in hell she was going to encourage them. "You realize nothing's gonna...come of this, right?" she said flatly, her eyes fixed very intently on her niece's hair.

Risk rolled his eyes. "I wasn't expecting anything, Beth, don't worry."

"Good. 'Course not." She snorted, expertly finishing the latest braid and looking up in relief, pushing back a wave of embarrassment. She was being absurd. He wasn't blind or insane. And she was not, by all the Hindu gods, the slightest bit disappointed. "So...when?"

"I'll go back as soon as this whole Ericson deal is over with," he answered, trying his best not to look too excited. "You can move in already if you want to, though. Get settled and everything..."
"Is your place even clean?" smirked Ershey, actually quite surprised at how well this turned out.

"I'll manage," Macbeth assured her dryly. "You should've seen my fam'ly's old place in the Points. 'Clean' becomes a relative term." She found a ribbon in her pocket, tied off the braids, and set Jo on the floor to toddle around and cause what mayhem she would. "The Ericson thing...it ain't gonna cause any trouble?" she asked Risk. She didn't know any details, but she was from Five Points; she knew the kinds of things that went wrong when you tried to pin a murder on someone.

"All you need to know is that the guys we're pinning it on definitely deserves it," replied Risk, glancing over at Ershey. "It'll be fine, Adri, I swear."
((Gotta run! Night! <3))

(('Night! <3<3))
"Yeah, well, just make sure you get 'em all, then," Beth muttered. "It's the one guy who weasels his way out of it and goes looking for revenge that you gotta worry about."

"I'll make sure this one follows through," nodded Risk. "I don't want to mess this one up." "Thanks, Alec," said Ershey quietly as she glanced over at her brother. ((Wahhhh, sick today But I'm here! Haha))

((Awww! Feel better! <3))
"Thanks," Macbeth echoed grudgingly. "If we actually go through with this crazy plan, I'll try real hard not to kill you." She glanced at the clock and swore. "We gotta get back to work, Ersh."

Ershey nodded, patting Risk on the shoulder before standing up to leave. Risk smiled in return and walked over to Macbeth to take Jo.
"You can't even kill me if you want to," he smirked jokingly as he gently held Jo.

She kissed Jo on the forehead. "See you later, jan." And raised her eyebrows at Risk. "Are you really gonna keep baiting me?" she asked half-seriously. "'Cause one'a these days..."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, you'll kill me in your sleep," he muttered, rolling his eyes at her.
"Quit flirtin'! We'll be late!" shouted Ershey from the door.

"Nah, that'd be boring. I'll do something, though," she said enigmatically before following Ershey out the door, completely ignoring her comment.
