Nevada was a mixture of anger and hurt and she realized that Firecracker had snuck out of their apartment. She thought she had disappeared like last time and it was a slap in the face. After all that time she thought she had gotten her friend back.
Luckily she was able to track her down at the lodging house. Nevada knew that she wS good at hiding so she showed up when she knew Firecracker was most likely to be around. Late at night.
Nevada scanned the room full of sleeping girls and spotted her, thanks to her hair. Nevada sat on her bed and poked her hard in the back. 'I found you.'

Fire was fast asleep when Nevada crept up on her. Groaning, she squirmed when she felt the hard poke against her back. "Oww! Quit it," she replied, not fully connecting the sentence to who was talking to her.

Nevada laid down beside Firecracker and frowned, 'why did you leave?' she whispered softly 'I looked everywhere for you!'

Well, there goes trying to sleep tonight! Fire sighed and slowly opened her eyes, finally seeing that it was Nevada who had come to wake her up. "I'm sorry," she apologized softly. "I... I forgot I had some things to do."

Fire closed her eyes, trying not to react to the fact that Nevada's hand was currently running through her hair. If only the truth were that easy! "That is the truth," she insisted quietly. "I was almost asleep, but then I remembered right before I fell asleep that I had something here that I had to finish."

'sure,' Nevada said moving to get off the bed. 'that was probably your excuse last time you left too.' she said shaking her head. 'you know Fire, when you feel like telling the truth come find me.' she said, making her way towards the window.

Fire sighed heavily. Great, there just wasn't any winning! Reluctantly, she got up and followed the other girl to the window, "You don't want to do this, Nev. I know you think you do, but you don't."

Nevada turned around and faced her, 'do what? Leave or be your friend?' she asked, crossing her arms. A few of the girls were starting to groan at their conversation so she stepped outside on to the fire escape, Fire could follow her if she wanted.

Fire followed her friend outside and shut the window behind them. She crossed her arms over her chest and looked over at her sadly. When is this going to be over? "If you think this is easy on me at all, you're wrong."

Nevada was confused and shook her head, sitting on the fire escape 'what is so hard? I'm confused as hell! '

Fire chewed nervously on her lower lip. She should've just let this one go. She should've just let Nevada leave. Sure, that would've hurt, but at least she wouldn't be faced with this current predicament. "It's...." She quickly looked away and started climbing up the fire escape. "Nothing."

Nevada had half a mind to leave but she couldn't. She followed her up to the roof. 'look....if you want me to leave, just say it....I'll go.'

"Nev... it's not that..." Fire's voice trailed off. She swallowed hard and turned slowly to look back at her friend. She caught a glimpse of Nevada's eyes and felt her stomach instantly twist into a ball of knots. Her eyes always managed to do that to her, no matter what. "I don't want you to go," she began softly, "but..."
She looked away and quickly shook her head. "This isn't something that can be fixed."
