A Few Small Repairs

[Nate]

"Think about it," Nate began as he leaned forward, his elbows resting on his knees. "Say you work in a furniture place. Some big name uptown gets your table, chair, anything. They like it, they sing your praises and then your name is bouncin' around town like it's the next big thing."

He shrugged and leaned back in his chair. "That's the kind of hard work I wouldn't mind putting in long hours for."

[Risk]

"Damn... makin' chairs and stuff for a living? Well, as long as you like it," he chuckled. "It's good to know there are some people out there tryin' to do what they still want."

[Nate]

"It's the only thing I'm really all that good at," he confessed, laughing. "Stick with what you're good at, you know? Gotta be better than doing nothing at all."

[Risk]

"That's true," nodded Risk, laughing. "I agree. Might as well do what you're good at, huh?"

[Nate]

"What about you?" he asked. "Is there anything you're good at?"

[Risk]

Risk cleared his throat and pondered his answer. "Uh... I'm good at askin' questions and findin' things out," he replied before grinning slyly. "And pissin' off Ershey and Macbeth."

[Nate]

Nate laughed loudly. This kid had a pretty good sense of humor! "Well, I don't think you can make money off of gettin' those two all riled up. The asking questions and getting answers, though, that shows promise. I don't know how, but it does."

[Risk]

Risk laughed inwardly. Oh, if he only knew.

"Oh yeah? What'd you think I can do with that?"
