He shrugged and turned his head to look out over the rest of Irving Hall. "You're lucky you got her back, you know that?"

"I'm just glad she's still talking to me," replied Risk, chuckling softly. "It took weeks for her to acknowledge me... we didn't even recognize each other 'cause we were kids the last time we were together. I mean, things are looking up now, right?"

He finished up the last of his whiskey and set the empty glass down. "Just don't take it for granted."

"I never really thought about it too much, I guess," Nate explained. "Didn't have to look out for anyone but me, and I didn't really have anyone looking out for me. Had its good times and its bad times. You know, you never realize the difference until you actually experience it though... Sometimes, having someone to look after ain't so bad."
