"How dare you even say that to me?" she began, her voice low but choked with emotion. Mostly anger. "How dare you? You meant everything to me. Everything. I loved you more than I ever thought I could love someone. But you hurt me one too many times. I just...I can't. I can't anymore," she said, tears falling from her eyes.

"You--ya said you loved me...you were supposed to love me..." His eyes shone with pain and his heart felt like it was about to burst. "Ya never loved me. Yer a goddamn liar." His eyes darkened, now in anger, and he grabbed his jacket, throwing it on. "Yer a fuckin' heartless bitch, Lillian. Congratulations. Ya never have to see me again." He strode to the door, throwing it open, walking out and slamming it behind him.
