"I'm trying, but I guess I'm just not all that good at that. I really am trying though," he promised. He studied her face carefully, trying to figure out what she might be thinking. "I've scared you off by now, haven't I?"

"You still wanna after everything that's come out of my mouth today?" He asked, genuinely surprised that she would still want to kiss him after everything that he had said.
He thought it over for a moment and, despite his slight feeling of guilt, he nodded. "If you want to, I won't fight it."

He closed his eyes and let himself relax at her touch. He exhaled slowly, his breath slightly shaky. He almost hated to admit it, but this wasn't so bad, after all! Was this really what he had been denying himself of for the past couple of years?

Trixie brushed her lips over his just a little, feather light, not quite kissing him yet. She felt bad for him, holding on for so long, being so sad. If she had her way, no one would be sad. So she'd start with Nate.
