David turned his eyes to her and gave her a smile. "You look adorable, Zip." He leaned down and kissed her, feeling less grumpy now.
Les let out a whoop, laughing.

"I can be cute sometimes," Zippy pointed out, kissing him again, and wrapping her arms around his shoulders. "You have snowflakes on your eyelashes."
Eli looked up at the sky and then smiled at Les. "Maybe they'll be enough snow after dinner to make a snowman."

He blushed, stopping so he could hold her against him a minute. He kissed her cheek, nuzzling her gently. "You're cute all the time, Zip."
Les beamed. "Ya think so?!" He turned his face up, sticking his tongue out to catch snowflakes.

Zippy overheard them and laughed. "Let's hope so, Les!" She looked up at the sky too.
Eli chuckled and looked at David. "Where do ya wanna go for dinner, Dave? I was thinking burgers."

Les whooped again. "Yeah! Burgers! Can we get onion rings?"
David sighed, but nodded. "Yes, you can get onion rings. But only if you share." He smiled over at Zippy, resuming their walk as he slid his arm around her shoulders.

"Oh yeah. It would be absolutely upsurd if we didn't," Eli remarked, stealing Les's hat and tossing it in the air with one hand and catching it in the other. He stole David's and Zippy's hats, and began to juggle.
"Hey! I didn't know you could do that!" Zippy exclaimed, laughing.

David frowned a little. "Ya know, it would be terrible if you made your sister catch a cold because you took her hat."

Eli caught the hats and handed them back to their respected owners, sending a quick glare David's way, too quick for Zippy to notice. Eli liked to play around, but he knew when to be serious too. David didn't seem to know the difference.
Zippy looked down at Les. "Do your parents still hate me?" She asked him, frowning a little.

Les gave the question some real thought. "Well...Sarah does, that's for sure. I think Mama and Papa are just worried 'cause Davey's bein' so...un-Davey-ish."
David shot a glare back at Eli, then rolled his eyes at Les. "Les, seriously?"
"What?! It's true!"

"No, no. Thank you, Les!" She smiled at him. "That was very helpful." They finally reached the diner, and Eli opened the door for everyone.
"Remember, burgers on me so order anything." Eli nodded to Les, giving him a thumbs up.

"Yes!" Eli had granted Les the keys to the kingdom, practically, and he ran to a booth, sliding in.
David slid in across from Les, putting his hand on Zippy's thigh once she was beside him. "Don't go over board, kid."

David looked over a menu, trying not to let Eli bug him. "I want a Cherry Coke."
Les licked his lips dramatically. "Chocolate shake! And onion rings. Lots and lots of onion rings."
