"I find it hard to believe that you weren't nice before. It may be true, but I just can't see it," Nate admitted with a small shake of his head.
"Right, Sean?" He asked playfully, reaching over to gently take the boy's hand. "See? I think he agrees with me."

"MAMA!" He squealed and then giggled. Raven smiled. "Oh I'm not saying I wasn't ever nice, I was just a lot harder."

"Well, I still find that hard to believe," he shrugged. He chuckled to himself and turned his head, watching the streets go by from inside the trolley. "I'll just have to take your word for it, won't I?"

"Yea you will," she smiled and rested he head on his shoulder as the trolly carried them uptown to the zoo. When the reached their stop Rae stood up, lifting Sean into her arms and got off, waiting for Nate.

Nate picked the bag back up and hoisted it back over his shoulder before following them off of the trolley car. "Ticket booth is this way," he said, motioning towards a pathway.
The zoo came into sight quickly and a smile immediately came over his face. "Doesn't look too crowded, either."

"Look Sean we're here!" Raven said excitedly. She was actually extremely excited too and couldn't wait to see the lions.
Sean clapped his hands, smiling and laughing. He, of course, had no idea where they were but it looked fun and his mom was happy.
Raven followed Nate to the ticket booth.

"Three, please," Nate said to the ticket taker as he reached into his pocket and pulled out the money for their admission. Once they were all paid for, he led them through the gate.
"So, where to first?" he asked excitedly. "They've got lions, bears, a house with exotic birds... a little bit of everything!"

Sean held up his hands and made a "RAH!" noise. Then he giggled at himself.
"Oh, I think someone wants to see the lions." Raven said and Sean nodded.

Nate couldn't help but laugh. Sean was far too cute! "Wait, wait," he said, his forehead playfully wrinkling in pretend confusion before heading towards the lions. "How did that go again?"

Sean giggled and then lifted his hands into little claws and went, "RAH!"
Raven laughed and kissed Sean's nose. "I think they're his favorite." She said as they hurried to see the lions.
"RAH!" Sean roared again and then laughed.

"They were my favorite when I was a kid, too," Nate said with a smile. He approached the lion enclosure carefully, an excited look on his face. "Of course, I didn't get to see them in person until much, much later."

"He only knows what they look like from this picture book Mrs. Ellyson have him. It's about the circus," Raven said, she shifted Sean up higher on her hip and pointed at the lion who licked his massive lips and then growled.
Sean's eyes widened and he yelped then narrowed his yes and went "Rah!"

"The circus? I don't think I've ever been to a circus, myself," Nate remarked as he watched Sean's interactions with the lion. He laughed again, an amused lok on his face. "Does he know any other animals, or just the lions?"

"He knows cats and dogs, elephants and horses." She said and then laughed at her son too. "Is he really trying to take on a lion?"
"Rah rah RAAAAH!" Sean waved his hands around and growled.

"Careful, Sean, those lions might mistake you for one of them and try to take you away from us," Nate teased. He took a step closer to the enclosure and looked inside. "They're big, aren't they?"
