Sean looked at Nate and nodded, then he looked back at the lions and waved at them, expecting a wave back.
Rae was all smiles today. She would really never forget this. Her son was having the time of his life but she couldn't shake the feeling that his father should have been there with them. "What should we see next? What about the monkeys?"

"The monkeys are a good idea," Nate agreed with a grin. He turned away from the lion cage and looked over at Rae, his forehead wrinkling slightly. "Are you okay? You're awfully quiet..."

"Yeah, I'm fine." she said and nodded. What she was really thinking was that Sean's father should have been there seeing this. That Spot was missing everything and didn't really seen to care. When she turned away from the lion cage she slipped her hand into Nate's. Sean turned to look back over his mother's shoulder and wave goodbye to his lion friend.

Silently, Nate closed his hands around Rae's and gave it a small squeeze. He leaned down and lightly kissed her temple, "Okay."
He walked with them towards the monkey cage, still trying to figure out what was really going on in her head at that moment. "Look, Sean," he said quickly, using his free hand to point at a monkey that was hanging from one of the higher bars on the cage. "How do you think he got up there?"

Sean's mouth hung open for a second and he pointed at the monkey. Then he lifted his hands up toward his armpits and went "oh! Oh oh. Oh!"
Rae laughed, "That's exactly what they sound like!" she kissed his cheek.

Nate couldn't help but laugh. This kid was too much! "He's quite the character," he said to Rae, laughing as he took a step closer to the cage. He looked inside and back at Sean.
"Has, umm, has anyone told you that you're doing a good job with Sean? I mean, given the circumstances," Nate asked her softly.
((PS - Boyfriend is singing the National Anthem at the Jets/Giants game today!!))

She smiled back at him, "Race tells me all the time. Thanks it means a lot though." she smiled at her son still making Monkey noises.

"Well, it's true," he continued with a casual shrug of his shoulders. "I've seen other girls try to do it once or twice before... It's not for the weak, I can tell you that." He smiled as he watched Sean, another idea soon coming to him.
"You know where else we could take him that he might like?"

Sean continued to make monkey noises and mimic their arm motions.

"The museum of natural history," Nate answered with a grin. "I was only there once, but they've got all kinds of great things. Dinosaur bones, tigers and stuff that they stuffes. It's great!"

"Oh I think he would really like that," Rae said with a huge smile. "Sean do u wanna see the dinosaurs?"
Sean looked at his mother with a blank stare. What were these dinothings she was speaking of? And would the nice man be taking him?
Sean reached out for Nate, opening and closing his hand.

Nate blushed a little when he noticing that Sean was opening and closing his hand at him. "You okay, little man?" He asked with a grin before extending his index finger out for him to grab.
"Maybe we can go next week," he said to Rae. "I'd suggest sooner, but we don't want to excite Sean too much!"

Rae laughed, "excite him all you want. I think he really likes you," she said with a smile. Sean now leaned over and reached out his other arm for Nate.
"Jesus!" before Rae knew what was happening Sean had managed to finagle himself into Nate's arms.

"Hey! Whoa now," Nate laughed, trying to figure out exactly how Sean had managed to wriggle himself out of his mother's arms and into his own. "Looks like we've got an escape artist here!"
He lightly bounced Sean in his arms for a moment, facing him towards the monkeys once more. "He's a good kid, Rae," he continued with a smile. "Any guy would be crazy to not wanna spend time with him."

Raven shrugged, "Well then his father is really nuts." she shrugged. Sean waved at her from Nate's arms, smiling like crazy.
"You are a silly boy." she said to him.
