[Sapphy]

Sapphy was taking the day off. She had a few dollars to her name and was sitting comfy -- so she decided to blow it all. She'd stress and regret it all tomorrow, probably have a good cry, but today, today she was going to have fun.

Coney Island was usually where she went with her partner-in-crime, her younger brother, but he was somewhere between New York and California. She missed Coney Island almost as much as her brother -- so she decided it was the perfect way to spend her day.

She arrived sometime around lunch after leaving early that morning. She went up to one of the fried food stands to get something to eat.

Raven was munching on a hotdog, looking out at the sea, letting the breeze blow back her hair. She had succeeded. Those morons trailing her were officially in the dust. Gone. She got on that trolly so fast she even waved goodbye to Mellow perched on his rooftop. If only she could have seen his face.

She took another bite and chewed. Delicious. Freedom was delicious. Ah.

[Sapphy]

Sapphy took a seat next to a girl already at the outdoor counter.

"Could I get some french fries with ketchup and mayonaise? Thank you."

[raven]

"Ketchup and Mayonnaise?" Raven couldn't help herself, the thought of it actually disgusted her. She turned to face the red haired girl who ordered it.

[Sapphy]

"Don't knock it 'til you try it," Sapphy grinned. "It's delicious."

[raven]

"Ugh," Raven wrinkled up her nose and shook her head. "Can't do, I just can't." She paused for a second, "You look kinda familiar." God damn it, maybe she was being followed here to. She was gonna kill him!

[Sapphy]

Sapphy smiled widely and shrugged her shoulders up to her ears.

"Never seen you before," she said rather apologetically.

[raven]

"That's alright..." Raven said and grimaced as the fries with ketchup and mayo were placed before Sapphy. "Im Rae." She said and held out her hand.

[Sapphy]

"I will tell you my name after you try this," Sapphy said, swirling the ketchup and mayo together. She held a pre-dipped fry out to Raven. "If you hate it, you can literally punch me in the face."

[raven]

Raven laughed, god she hadn't laughed in a long time. "Okay okay...you know you're pretty brave saying I could punch you if I hate it." Raven took the offered fry and put it in her mouth.

Eeeeh it wasn't terrible but still strange, she didn't hate it though. She chewed and swallowed. "Its okay...but I wouldn't eat them by choice."

[Sapphy]

Sapphy shrugged.

"Your loss," she replied, popping a fry in her mouth. "I'm Sapphy. Nice to meetcha, Rae," she said, cleaning her fingers with a napkin before offering Rae her hand.

[raven]

"Nice to meet ya," Raven said with a smile. Sometimes it was nice to just be normal. To meet someone on the boardwalk and let everything that was on your mind slip away.

[Sapphy]

Sapphy munched on a fry and looked out to the ocean. It was the only thing keeping her in New York -- that water -- even though there was another beach on the other side of the country waiting for her.

"So what are you doing here today?" Sapphy asked conversationally.

[raven]

"Getting away," Raven said nonchalantly. She rested her elbows against the edge of the table and looked at Sapphy. "Ever get that need to escape? That's what im doing here."

[Sapphy]

"I'm right there with ya," Sapphy sighed, feeling the money in her pocket burning to be spent. She stared down at her french fries for a second before adding more ketchup. She squeezed it out into the shape of a heart.
