She laughed, "S'alright I like where I live. The boys tip well an' I've got me own space. Brode an' Danny are always doin' their own thing I get time to meself." And she wouldn't want to leave the friends she had, the near family she had in some ways.

With that Vi tilted her head, a hand moving to her neck as she considered what to eat. "Wow this is... good." She wasn't going to order just anything she didn't want her brother spending too much but she did like pasta and the spaghetti and meatballs sounded amazing. "What've ya been doin, Ry? Since.. ya know.." You've been here.

"Well, I've been selling papers as a newsie," he answered, glad that she liked her food. He could do that for her, at least. "And sometimes I sneak into school to learn things... but, uh, nothing really." He hated saying it out loud. He didn't accomplish much and he beat himself up for it.

"I told ya... I never got accepted. Y'know how everyone got so excited that I just went right on over here? Things weren't... set in stone," he answered, shrugging. "And I figured I'd just wait and be a newsie, maybe apply again but nothing's really happened."

Specs simply shrugged, taking in a mouthful of his food. He didn't have anything to be proud about. He had nothing to show for his family.
