She smiled and motioned to what she wanted when the waiter came over, getting some water and whatever the thing was she was trying to pronounce but just gave up and said that. Because it sounded good.

Specs nodded at the waiter as he finished ordering. He couldn't help but smirk at Violet when she was telling the waiter what she wanted. Oh, how he missed her.
"So, what else? What else did I miss? Anything I should know about?" he asked, figuring there was much more that he wasn't hearing about.

She shrugged her shoulders, "Da's fightin in Manhattan in the ring a bit still.... most a the boys took up with Paul Kelly an' the points gang when we got here. Couldn' stay outta trouble if ya paid em all." She knew there were things, mum being dead and buried was a blow but-- she didn't want to add to that. "Think just need ta know if yer happy.."

"He's probably home-- got a little apartment in the points but there is always someone there. He's like neighborhood leader..." She could tell her brother that, they all loved each other and when Da was home everyone was in and out all the time but it had been that in the village too. "Everyone's always comin' in an out.. I dunno how he does it."
