Adri looked at him for a couple seconds and finally gave in. "Alright, but if you're mean to me, I'm not sharing movies with you anymore," she said, sounding like a five year old as she went over to the cashier to rent the movie.

Eli shoved his hands in his pockets. "Mean to you? I've never been mean to you!" He insisted, walking over to join her.

Adri rolled her eyes at him, chuckling softly as she subconsciously led him towards her place. "...And how did you treat me at your party, hm?"

"I treated you politely. And I was honest about my feelings, Adri. That wasn't me being mean," he explained carefully, trying not to get annoyed.

"Alright, fine," she sighed, letting the issue drop. She led him towards her apartment, opening the door and secretly thanking herself that she cleaned up earlier.
"Want anything? Coke? Water?" she asked as she walked towards the DVD player and set up the movie.

Eli shook his head. "I'm alright, thanks..." he glanced around. It was a nice place. Very Adri. He just wished he wasn't in his work clothes.
He sat down on the couch. "you living by yourself?"

Adri popped in the DVD, grabbed the remote and took a seat next to Eli on the couch. "Yup," she answered, grinning over at him. "It's a small enough place for myself, anyway. That weird or something?"

"I go home sometimes," she shrugged, not thinking much of it. She glanced over at Eli and caught the worry on his face.
"I'm fine, Eli," she said reassuringly, giving him a gentle nudge on the arm. "I've gotten more independent than the last time you saw me. Besides, you're not the only person I know in the city."

Eli shrugged. "Alright, if you say so." Eli relaxed back and lifted his feet onto the coffee table, relaxing as he enjoyed the movie.

Adri shrugged it off, convincing herself that it was nothing and trying to ignore the fact that he still cared.
"How's it going with you, anyway?" she asked after a couple of minutes.

Eli shrugged. "fine I guess. Work is hard." he gave her a puppy eyed frown.

Adri smiled widely as she laughed. "Yeah? And what do you want me to do about that?"

"Nothing. Just want your sympathy." Eli joked. He glanced at her. "how's your new job?"

"You keep pouting like that and maybe I will," she smirked. "It's good. I like it, actually. Everyone's so nice that it wasn't too hard to fit in. Then again, it's a new job, so... yeah, it's hard."
