"You ever... well, uh, are you still upset about everything?" she asked tentatively. Despite all that they went through, she considered Eli as one of her good friends.

Eli wasn't expecting that question. His smile faded and he cleared his throat, unsure of how to answer that. "I mean, no. It was a long time ago already."

"Don't get me wrong, Adri, the whole thing broke my heart. But then college happened and I healed a lot quicker than I thought," he told her, a bit uncomfortably, but with an Eli-smile nonetheless. "You were right. Going our separate ways to our separate dream schools was the best decision."

Adri nodded, not quite sure how to digest what she'd heard. It was true, though. They just needed some time away from each other - they needed some time to grow. She just never thought she was going to run into him again.
"I just wish we weren't mad at each other when it ended, y'know? I just don't want any hard feelings, that's all... I don't want to catch you plotting my revenge or something," she teased, hoping it'd lighten the mood.

Eli laughed. "Adri. I'm fine. No hard feelings." he assured her. "It's good to see you again, though. I don't know about you, but whenever I think of high school I think about you. It's a good thing."

Eli smiled. "What didn't happen?! I joined a fraternity. I've been dating Natalie on and off for awhile, she's actually cousins with Hilary and haylie duff, can you believe that?!"
