The last of the boys had left hours ago with their new batch of jobs for Priest, and Monday was alone again in his flat. He hadn't seen or heard from Jimmy or Piper since their little incident, and things had been worryingly quiet.
Quiet enough that Monday felt a little lost, standing in the middle of his living room with no pressing matters to deal with. So he did what his Mama had always suggested, when the mind is racing and the hands are in need of a chore -- he cooked.
Being a good Italian boy, he could cook for himself, but not many of the others in Priest's circle knew about his skill, and he wasn't in any hurry to enlighten them.
Finally, he settled down at his rickety kitchen table with a plate of pasta and a bottle of wine he kept tucked in his cabinet, out of sight of visitors to his apartment, who tended to lean toward the alcoholic side.

While the issue with jimmy had remained drama-free, there had been other men on Piper's list that she had to get info on for priest while in Brooklyn.
Last night, Piper had attempted to find some info on a man in Sharkeys, but nearly gotten raped by him. She had gotten away just in time.
Distraught, Piper stopped by Monday's apartment, knocking on his door.

Monday had just poured himself a glass when he heard the knock. He pushed back from the table, casting his plate of food a wistful glance, then went to the door and pulled it open.
"Piper," he said with an eyebrow up. She didn't quite look as composed as usual.

"I'm out," she said, handing him her list from Priest. "I'm sorry to leave you hanging, but I can't do this anymore."

He frowned and took the list from her. "You can't be 'out,' that isn't how he works." Nudging the door open, he looked down at the list and moved toward one of the chairs. "Come in."

"I know damn well it ain't how it works," she snapped, but the fact was, she didn't care. She was skipping town and would be long gone before they could find her.
"And don't you dare even try to bring me to priest. I will stab you." and she frickin meant it.

"Right now, all I want is to eat my dinner. So come in and sit." He took her by the wrist and pulled her into the apartment, closing the door behind him.

She didn't trust him. Piper wouldn't have even stopped by to let him know she was bailing if he didn't have her back with Jimmy.
The door shut behind her and Piper started shaking she was so upset. "No need, Monday. I'm out." but she Wasn't moving.

With an irritated noise, he moved her over into the kitchen and directed her to a chair. "Tell me what happened," he ordered as he slid his glass of wine toward her. Even if she did manage to get out of town, he'd still need to take care of whatever had gone down.

"From what starting point?" she snapped. "When my father sold me off to Priest at 13? Or when the assface tried to rape me last night?"

Christ.
He pulled out the list she'd handed him and smoothed it out on the table. "Who was it? Him?" he asked as he pointed to the last name.

"It doesn't matter. All the thugs I mess with are entitled to me. you know how fucked up that is?" she bitched, knowing she was saying too much.

"If Priest isn't going to protect you, then the rest of us will, Piper," he growled, starting to grow angry. It was the one thing they'd all been promised -- do for Priest, and he'll do for you. For the most part Priest had held up his end, but it didn't seem like he was offering the same sort of deal for her. "Tell me who it was, and I'll have somebody take care of 'em."

"He wants me to fuck these men, Monday," piper replied. "He would punish me if he thought I resisted as often as I did."

"I don't fuckin' care what he wants," Monday said flatly. "I could tolerate him when I thought he was being a decent boss. But you put your life on the line for him more than any of us do, and you're the one who's treated the worst."
