Pie pondered that as they reached the restaurant. He leaned forward to open the door for her -- he was raised as a good gentleman, after all, even if he was the son of a grocer -- and then followed her inside. "Ah, it smells good in here," he sighed with a grin, breathing in deep.

She knew he was going to drop it or not reply stepping in and taking in a breath, shoving her hair back. "I smell oh pie! Not you Pie but real pie.." Did it happen to be a coincidence that she loved sweet things and he happened to get his nickname after a sweet thing? She blushed and then laughed as she headed in. "Good lord I'm starvin..."

He burst out laughing when she clarified which pie, giving her an affectionate squeeze around the shoulders. "Me, too, kid. Let's find a booth and get some food, I feel like I haven't eaten in weeks."

"Maybe ya havent" she replied knowing how much some of them didn't eat-- she gave him a bright smile and moved to sit, sliding into a booth and tilting her head with a grin. That worked out didn't it. She liked his laugh...

Her stomach growled, "Probably a hot dog an'.. somethin'... maybe some chips..." she raised a brow at him, she didn't want to over do it-- but that was her normal fare whens he ate at Tibby's anyway. "Might try this.. pigs in a blanket thing.."

She laughed and shook her head, "Ya an' the lads go out drinkin... it's never been me thing. I like me head clear..." But she knew what it was when the whiskey could numb, when she was sick her gran had given her some to help with her cold.

She listened to him and lifted her eyes to his face, smiled softly, "Liquid courage.... I guess it helped Jack. What does it do fer you?" She was irish, no matter how people said they were drunks they weren't. beer was just a part of meals back home at the pubs, they weren't drunk brawls.

She shook her head, "I'm not judgin'... I'm Irish remember? I've never really had a need ta forget --" Maybe she should have taken the opportunity when things arose that were painful. But she told a story instead, and got lost going somewhere else. Maybe that was worse, "Well a few... I suppose.."

She shook her head, "Did back when I was younger-- lotsa that because the hurt was too big." And it wasn't something that she'd ever really understood, pain was just part of living wasn't it? Her brow furrowed at the idea and she shook her head again, "Ah no more a that... "
