"I guess he thought so," Pie laughed. "He loves my ma a lot, even though she's difficult to live with."

She chuckled and thought about it, "Sounds like a great story-- I remember the boat a bit. Was cold.. was pretty sick the whole crossin though.."

He tilted his head at her. "You got seasick?" His parents always talked about the trip over the ocean, but they had both grown up in a town where being on a boat was a big part of life.

She nodded, "Aye, bad the the whole time. I'd seen the water but I'd never been on a boat before. I talked to sailors but never got out with 'em." No she wasn't that close to the ocean growing up in Kiteel. But it was a few hours ride to Dublin Town, and she did love going there.

"D'you think you could handle the ferry? Might get you used to boats a bit," he offered. "Pa takes us out sometimes onto the water, when he can borrow a skiff."

"Aye?" she wasn't sure but she didn't mind the ferry-- it was kind of fun to just ride across. "I dunno I been on the ferry a time or two an' didn' get sick so much as I did on the crossin.."

"The water isn't so rough," he told her. He sat back against the booth and smiled warmly at her. "Maybe we could take a boat out one day, then. You probably know some good sea stories."

"Aye I do," she replied with a grin, the idea was even more and more appealing. Granted she just liked being alone with him-- she glanced down at her empty plate and chuckled.

Pie followed her gaze to the plate, then realized they'd both been sitting here talking for a while now. "Oops," he laughed as he fished in his pockets for the money to pay. "How long've we been sitting here?"

"Guess we should head back," he said a little sheepishly as he put the coins on the table and got up.

Fae got to her feet and set her hat on her head, lifting her head when Pie stood up and held out her hand to him. "Maybe-- could go for a walk though." She wasn't ready to call it a night.. not by a long shot.

Pie linked his fingers with hers as they left the restaurant, grinning over at her. "It's good weather for a walk," he answered. He didn't want to head back to the lodging house, either.

She tugged her hair behind her ear and tipped her chin towards the sky, "Didn' think that I'd get somethin' like this... you know?"
