Pie Eater was distracted all through his morning bout. He'd kissed Fae last night -- and it hadn't been like any other kiss he'd ever had.
Pie prided himself on practicality and a certain emotional distance. He wasn't one to get caught up in romance and silliness like that. So it was coming as a bit of a shock that he was falling for Fae, who had her head in the clouds every minute of the day.
Luckily, despite his distraction, Pie won his fight and got enough money to pay for lunch at last. He jangled the coins in his palm with a grin and then tucked them away in his pocket, setting out to find out where Fae was telling her stories.

She had a bench that she stood on, walked across and spoke with her hands and her voice. Jack was right, Fae was a born actress and it was clear the way she entertained. Using her fingers and her hair, her face and her entire body to tell a story. There were kids gathered around watching her go on and on about some kind of fantasy and as the tension built and-- she stopped and beamed.
"An' that means it's lunch time--- best come back later for the continue." Her face lit up when she saw him coming down the pathway, her foot near the hat that people tossed coins into. Her stack of papers pretty much gone for the afternoon edition. The young irish girl put her hand on her hip and watched him. "Yer face looks better'n I expected, Niko."

"That's a strange way to say hello, Molly," he told her with a grin as he came up, holding out his hand to help her down from the bench. "Looks like you told a good story today." He nudged the hat with the tip of his boot.

She beamed and took his hand, dropping down to the ground. "Oh they love a good one-- gotta be well rounded or no one stays round ta hear it. An' they come back because I've got em hooked.." She shifted the change from the hat into one of the pockets of her skirts and put her hat on her head. Her fingers were still around his, not willing to let him go yet. "How was yer mornin?"

"Sold my papes and made enough from the fight to get us some lunch," he answered, putting his arm around her shoulders as they walked. "Guy got me good in the stomach, though. Hurt like hell."

Fae leaned over and rubbed his stomach gently with a serious look before she sighed and started to laugh, "A knight ya are... just missin' the horse an' the joust.." She tipped her head as they walked nodding. "Lunch sounds divine I haven' eatin' since gettin' bread from the cart this mornin.."

"Bless those nuns -- don't know what we'd all do without those ole' girls." He laughed and lifted his shoulder. "Starve, probably." He looked down at her, leading them in the general direction of Tibby's. "What story did you tell 'em?"

She smiled and then laughed, "I was reading Treasure Island--- decided ta tell em all that one with a few twists I bet Robert Stevenson never thought of.." Like putting girls in it, she couldn't keep a good story going without adding in something or changing it a bit.

"I don't think he'd mind," Pie laughed. "It seemed to keep everybody interested, so they must have been good changes."

"Yeah? How'd Cowboy do today?" he asked, looking down at her curiously.

"Not bad-- we were talkin. An I told him about -- well us an' he laughed said we were so different he didn' see it comin.." She shrugged her shoulders a bit, actually it had only made her laugh but she gave him a smile. "Told him it didn' matter how different we were.."

He shrugged. "I didn't really see it comin', either. Did you?" he asked, looking down at her. "Maybe that's why it worked?"

She shook her head and shrugged her shoulders, "No, I didn' but I didn' really care... I like the warm feelin'. Makes me feel special, ya know?" Her brow lifted and she looked up at him, before giving him a bright smile. "Think it could be too.." He kept her grounded..

He gave her a crooked grin, pulling on her hat brim, and nodded. "Don't sweat it, Mol. Anyway, Cowboy isn't one to talk."
