"Oh, uhm, right," Oscar said, scratching the back of his head.
Before Sapphy could react, their food thankfully came. She started eating her burger fast. Number one, to get out of there. And number two, so she'd be less likely to talk.

Tag followed suit, fixing her eyes on her plate as she stuffed her face.
"I love a girl who likes ta eat. Don't you, Oscar?" Morris watched Sappy with approval and creepiness.

"Gimme the ketchup," Sapphy said, mouth full. She didn't even bother to raise her eyes to either of the brothers. She was inhaling her food.
Oscar handed her a bottle and she snatched it from him greedily. She covered her plate in ketchup then wordlessly put it between her and Tag to share.

Tag was already halfway done with her burgers and planned to eat only some of her fries. She didn't bother dipping them in ketchup to save time.
Morris finally noticed the girls were eating way too quickly. "Hey, what's the rush, ladies? We got all afternoon."

Tag realized he understood what they were doing and grabbed Sapphy's hand, making a run for it. Her books were tucked tightly under her other arm.
Morris stood up and watched them, throwing his napkin angrily on the table.

Sapphy finally allowed her laughter to escape as she ran with Tag. They didn't stop for two blocks, when they knew they were in the clear.
"Oh my god. Oh my god!" Sapphy repeated. "I don't care. Worth it. That burger was delicious."

Tag was laughing to the point of breathlessness.
"That. Was. Spec. Tac. Ular." She said in-between deep breaths. "I'll never be able to look at Oscar and Morris again!"
