[Sapphy]

Sapphy entered Tibby's feeling more than a little anxious. It was only a couple of days after the wedding and Raven had asked Sapphy to meet her up for lunch.

What was happening?

[raven]

Raven was already seated at a table, nursing a beer quietly to herself. She was watching a mother and little girl eat lunch together. The little girl had managed to get ketchup all over herself and was near tears.

When she saw Sapphy she waved at her with a smile.

[Sapphy]

Sapphy waved back, putting on her friendliest smile when she sighted Raven. Her heart was going a mile a minute. What happened to Raven was something of nightmares -- so why was Sapphy behaving like it'd happened to her?

Her damn empathy link always made it appear she was putting herself first -- she knew that was how it looked, but really, she was in mourning for the other person.

Even though Raven, thankfully, was alive. Sapphy just always had one foot in the grave.

She sat down across from Raven, "Hi," she said, a little shyly -- like it was their first date.

Raven put both hands flat on the table and looked Sapphy right in the eyes.

"Number one, I'm still me, number two, I know I'm out of my fucking mind lately, number three, I apologize for what happened at the wedding...I had way too much to drink and it was incredibly embarassing and awkward." Raven announced and took another sip of her beer. "Now, let's get unawkward. Ask me what you want...it'll be good to talk to someone about it and then we can just eat and talk about random shit."

[Sapphy]

Sapphy was beet-red.

"D-Don't apologize," she whispered.

[raven]

"Really? Cause I was pretty mean and it was kind of awful," Raven said, she fingered the paper napkin.

[Sapphy]

"I don't hold it against you," Sapphy said, looking up at her. "Neither does Kennedy. But she doesn't hold anything against anyone."

[raven]

"Which makes me feel worse about it," Raven said with a sigh. She bit her lip.

"I know you can't look at it..." She pointed at her face, "Either can I...though I know they did a good job sewing it back up...but it's hard to hide your own face." Raven sighed.

[Sapphy]

Sapphy crossed her ankles under the table.

"I'm sorry," she whispered, unable to meet Raven's eyes suddenly. "I look at it, and my mind... My mind starts picturing things I don't wanna think about and you..." Her throat closed up.

[raven]

"I actually think it bothers you the most out of anybody what happened to me..." She whispered, "But I am really okay, after the wedding things got better, Me and Spot are better. I'm still half bat shit crazy, but I'll be fine."

[Sapphy]

Sapphy looked up at Raven, brow furrowed. She shook her head. Not me. Spot, surely...

[raven]

"Yea you," Raven said and took another sip of her beer. When the waiter appeared she ordered a chicken sandwich and looked at Sapphy.

[Sapphy]

"Coke and chicken sandwich," Sapphy said. She suddenly felt so exposed and so, so guilty. She thought she'd hid it from Raven.

She looked up at her, eyes shining.

[raven]

"Oh...oh God, Sapphy don't cry cause then I'll cry okay?" Raven's eyes started welling up to. "I cry all the damn time now..."

[Sapphy]

"I'm sorry!" Sapphy yelped, covering her face.
