[Kathryn]

"Maybe that's true, but you won't get one now. I like Blink, I want to be with him, and I'm not going to go around kissing other guys," she informed him. She felt like slapping that smirk right off his face. Why did he annoy her so much?!

[Moonshine]

His brow quirked up at her. "Well, that's awful considerate of ya, Sugar. Just hope Blink's in the same mind as he's gatherin' up his harem." He didn't mean to come off as mean, but frankly, she'd hit a nerve. He wasn't even entirely sure why he was so stuck on her. She was abrasive and juvenile, stuck-up and selfish. And he wanted her desperately.

[Kathryn]

"He's not gathering up a harem!" she cried, getting really irritated now.

[Moonshine]

"But he wants to! He ain't ever gonna get one, but if you gave 'im the chance, he'd have as many girls as ya gave 'im!" She wasn't the only one who was irritated, and his own voice raised. "What the hell kinda man can even think of another girl when he oughta have his head full a' you?!"

[Kathryn]

"You don't know that! The only person that really knows what's going on in Blink's head is him!" Kathryn felt like stomping her foot, and she just might if she was pushed much further. "Besides, I would never give him the chance, and he wouldn't want me to." Did she really know that for sure? No, but she didn't dare tell him that.

[Moonshine]

"Then why bother sayin' it at all?! Why would he say that to ya, knowin' ya like 'im??" He frowned at her. "You can say what ya want about me, Kathryn, but I wouldn't ever tell a girl she's just a number ta me."

[Kathryn]

Kathryn just turned away from him, huffing in annoyance. She was sure she wasn't just a number to Blink. She'd never seen him with any other girls, at least not kissing them. If he didn't want her to go around kissing other guys if she liked him - which she did - then she knew he would adhere to the same principle.

[Moonshine]

Moonshine let out a frustrated breath, dragging his fingers through his hair. He let himself breath once or twice, trying to contain his annoyance. He licked his lips before he spoke again, controlling his voice. "Kathryn, I ain't gonna tell you what ta do. But I will tell ya I think yer makin' a mistake, wantin' him."

[Kathryn]

"Thank you for your opinion," she replied, gritting her teeth. "But you don't know Blink. He's not like the picture you're painting of him."

[Moonshine]

He looked down at her, corners of his mouth turned down. He wanted to touch her again, so he fisted his hands instead. "You sure about that? Or did ya bother thinkin' maybe it's your picture ya got wrong?"

[Kathryn]

She turned around on her heel, glaring at him. "Have you even spent any time with him?! Or are you just basing what he's like off of what Jack's told you?!"

[Moonshine]

He frowned at her. "Why the hell should I spend time with him, he's my goddamn competition." He clenched his fist again because the look on her face made her somehow more endearing and made him want to touch her even more.

"And I remember how he blew ya off at the Hall. Saw us there, together, an' didn't so much as flinch. I don't care what bullshit you feed me about him not playin' games. Ain't no man on the planet who wants a girl and don't get pissed seein' her on somebody else. If it'd a' been me, I woulda' punched somebody."

[Kathryn]

"Maybe he did!" she exclaimed, shrugging and throwing her hands up. "I don't know, I left right after I saw him, remember?!"

[Moonshine]

"Yeah, and I went after ya! Me, not him! Mr. Romance himself just went right back ta dancin'!" He glowered angrily, raking a hand through his hair again.

[Kathryn]

Kathryn matched her expression to his, her brow furrowed and her mouth in a tight line. "So? Just because he didn't run after me doesn't mean he doesn't like me. I saw him the next day, and he kissed me!" HA. So there.
