Zippy blushed, feeling awkward that she was complimenting them. She could tell why Jack liked Tara- she was absolutely delightful. "That would be really odd," Zippy reflected, glancing at David, "if someone told us we couldn't be together."

"It was well-deserved," Tara assured him. "My parents are expecting him here tonight. To finally announce the date for our wedding." She assumed quite an innocent expression. "My mother can't imagine what's taking him so long."

Tara swallowed and, for the first time, looked a little bit less than confident. "I'm...not really sure. You might have to disguise me as a newsie and spirit me out the door to escape their wrath."

"That's my favorite thing about newsies," Tara told Jack with a laugh, and smiled gratefully at Zippy. "Thanks. I hope so too. I'll just wait a bit longer to see if any more guests arrive." She glanced over at the refreshment table. "Punch, anyone?"
