Trixie had been making good money dancing at Irving Hall and had splurged on a new dress. She had every intention of showing it off to Eli. And then promptly getting it on the floor.
She went to his apartment after a bath in rose oil water and a change, knocking on his door.

Zippy had been sitting on the couch reading a book when their was a knock at the door. She wasn't expecting anyone and usually David just walked in.
She hesitated for a moment, worried that something was wrong. She opened the door, only to see a girl standing there. "Hello."

Trixie blinked at her, glancing at the number next to the door. Nope, this was the right apartment. "Uh, hi. I'm...Trixie? Is Eli home?"

"Eli's still at work, but he should be back soon," Zippy told her, realizing this girl must be Eli's new girlfriend. She identified the necklace she made around the girl's neck.
"I'm Erin. You can come in and wait for him if ya want." She opened the door, gesturing for her to come in. What if this girl was some sort of distraction, and Joseph's gang was really outside just waiting to come in? No, she had the necklace, she was Eli's girl.
((this will be wonderfully awkward))

Trixie blinked at her, coming inside. She took her coat off, then regretted it when she was wearing her new dress, which she'd purposely had taken in to make it a little tighter than it ought to be. It was supposed to be for Eli. Not his sister.
"I, uh...thanks for the necklace."

Trixie sat in the arm chair across from the couch, perching on the edge of it like she was ready to run. "Yeah, I do. I, uh, got the shell in Florida. With Eli. But I guess ya knew that part already."

"Yeah," Zippy responded, picking up her book and placing it on the table. It would be rude to read it. "Pretty crazy story. Did you have fun?"

She nodded, a small, wistful smile crossing her face before she could stop it. "Yeah, I did."

"I was a little jealous when I heard he took you," Zippy admitted, with a small shrug. "I had never been to a beach either."

Trixie bit her lip. "He, uh, he promised we'd go again. When he'd saved money. You--you could come, too. You and your boyfriend."

Zippy smiled at the mention of David. "Yeah, that would be fun." She glanced at trixie. "What was the beach like?"

She got a little dreamy thinking about it. "Warm. Breezy, though, 'cause it's December, but the sun was out. And it smelled like the salt water taffy they sell on Coney Island." She twirled a piece of hair hair around her finger. "He built me a sand castle."

God, she was completely smitten with her brother. While it was kinda gross, it was also kinda sweet, and Zippy was happy that Eli had someone. "Are you a newsie?"

The question made her blush, and she cursed herself for it. She had always been more comfortable around guys than girls. "Uh, kind of. I sell during the day."
