Leo shifted his body, looking out into the park. He wasn't sure what to say to her. "That was very nice of you to make lunch for me."

"You are welcome, I... I thought you could use a lunch," Lana shrugged. "After all you have done for me, I just wanted to do something for you, too." She exhaled slowly, still trying to figure where she went wrong. "I wanted to thank you."

Leo chuckled. "if we keep doing things for each other, its going to be quite a costly relationship," leo joked, his arm sliding down the bench to rest on her shoulders. "Let's just call it even now, hm?"

Lana felt his arm slip around her shoulder and she instantly perked up. She took this as the perfect opportunity to slide a little closer to him. No harm in that, right? "Is that not how it works?" she asked sweetly. Not that she would know... The closest she had ever gotten to any sort of 'relationship' before was when she was 6 and the neighbor boy pulled her hair every day.

Leo shrugged. "I do not know how anything works. Especially a relationship. But I expect you give, I take, then I give and you take. So yes."

"I do not know, either" Lana confessed with a shy smile. "But I think it is how you said. We both give, we both take." It seemed easy enough! "Although, you have given me more than I have given you."

Leo smiled, shaking his head. "I have not. Stop that!" He laughed, and rubbing her arm with his hand. "You are more appreciative than anyone else. That means something. I worry you are going to wake up and become a mean New Yorker."

"I will never wake up and be a mean New Yorker," Lana promised with a swift shake of her head. "Especially not to you, Leo! You got me a job, found Starfish, AND brought me to this place. I could never be mean to you!" She shook her head again to emphasize her point.
She looked up at him thoughtfully for a moment. "If anything, I am afraid of you turning into a mean New Yorker."

Leo laughed, at everything she said. He smiled so much when he was with her. "I have been in New York for a long time now, querida. If I was to become a mean New Yorker, it would have happened by now."

"Well, I still hope it never does," Lana remarked softly. She tilted her head up and lightly kissed his cheek.
She then pulled away and casually walked towards the water, her stomach now twisted up in what seemed like a thousand knots. She could hardly believe what she had done!

Leo joined her at waterside. "can you swim?" he asked her playfully.

"Y-yes," Lana answered, her forehead wrinkling as she eyed Leo suspiciously. "Why?"

He chuckled. "nah, I'm just messing. I'd never push you in."

"Okay," Lana said softly, still a little confused. "If it were warmer, I would understand."

"Well that was part of the joke, Lana. Was that it is way too cold for a swim," Leo explained, kicking a rock into the pond.
