Hawk recognized her hesitation and smiled at her. "it's been awhile since I've seen it myself. It's quite fantastic, if I remember correctly. It won't be just us...my friend Lenny will be driving the boat."

Tag let out a sigh, staring down at her book. "I really shouldn't... I should be getting back..." But she knew if he convinced her enough, she would go. But should she?

"well after we see the Statue, we can drop you off at the Manhattan docks," Hawk offered.

Tag furrowed her brow, thinking even more. That actually sounded like a good idea. And quite logical, too. She couldn't resist logic.
Finally, she smiled and looked over at him. "All right, you've convinced me."

"Fantastic!" Hawk smiled and snapped his fingers, telling a nearby boy to prepare the boat.

Tag re-opened her book only to fold the corner of her current page down, marking her place. She stood up, feeling her heart starting to beat wildly. This seemed to have turned into quite the adventure.

The Brooky Express pulled up, and Hawk stared at it with pride. Gaining the steamboat was one of his greatest accomplishments, and it made him a valuable asset to the Brooklyn newsies. Hawk helped Tag onto the boat.

Once she stepped onto the boat, Tag let out a breath she hadn't known she'd been holding in. "The last time I was on a boat, I was leaving England for New York, almost two years ago," she informed him. Though she didn't know why she felt compelled to share that bit of information.

"you gonna be okay?" hawk asked her, as they took off from the dock.

"Oh, yes. I'm apparently a great traveler," she informed him with a small chuckle. What she'd neglected to tell him was that her family had also been on board. "great!" Hawk grinned at her, motioning for Lenny to take off. "I get a bit sea sick myself, but it's worth it."

Tag hugged her book to her chest tightly as she approached the railing of the boat. She leaned against it, gazing at the sights of Brooklyn as she began to feel the small splashes of salt water on her face. It was such a lovely feeling, being on the ocean. She'd quite forgotten.

"You are lucky it's such a nice day out and the water is so calm," Hawk began, joining her. "Otherwise I'd probably be vomiting off the side of this boat right about now."

"Do you go out on the water often?" she questioned him, her brow a bit furrowed. He had made it seem like this was his boat. But why would he own a boat if he were prone to such seasickness?

"Not often, no." Hawk told her, "but on a calm day like today it's hard to say no."
