"Uh...I dunno if that's such a good idea." He was definitely good and drunk and knew he was going to wake up tomorrow with a really bad hangover.

"Changed your mind already?" Pie teased. He took a drink from his glass and smirked at his friend.

"Well, I'm really drunk...more drunk than normal." He said.

"All the more reason," Pie said with a grin as he got to his feet, albeit less steadily than normal. Apparently he'd had a few more than he'd realized. "You can't lose your nerve if you're three sheets to the wind."

Jack laughed as well. "Alright...I'm going..." he made his way toward the orchestra pit.

Pie watched as his friend crossed the floor toward the pit, folding his arms over his chest and grinning.
In the pit, Birdie was in her chair, making notes on her sheet music and furrowing her brow. It had been a long night already, and luckily it was almost over.

Jack peered down at her and smiled. She was so pretty and so calm. He whistled.

Birdie looked up, along with most of the other players. "Jack!" she said as she saw him, breaking into a big grin. She got up to a chorus of teasing oooohs from the orchestra and went over to him.

"You sound great!" He spit out immediately as she came over to him. "Did you have that violin solo before?" His cheeks were pink from too much alcohol and he was a little unsteady on his feet, but it was altogether not too embarrassing.

Birdie laughed, nodding her head. She could tell he'd had a few drinks, and when she glanced over his shoulder, she could see Pie watching them from afar. "That was me. Did it sound all right?" She put out a hand to catch his elbow when he wobbled slightly.

"oh it was beautiful. You're the best in the whole orchestra!" he smiled lazily, his cheeks pink. "you're extraordinary."

Birdie couldn't help but giggle again. "I'm not, but thank you for saying so," she said with a bright smile. "Thanks for coming over to say hello."

"why wouldn't I? I told ya I'd come," he was grinning from ear to eat like a complete fool. Damn the beer!

Birdie blushed, laughing. That smile! If she wasn't completely smitten with him, it sure felt like it -- every time he grinned at her, it felt like her whole body was filled with champagne, all bubbly and happy. "Still. I'm glad to see you," she told him with a quiet smile.

Jack leaned over then and gently kissed her cheek. "lemme walk ya home later?"
